>The Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) of the 
>Office of Legal Affairs is now accepting applications for the
>2010-2011 session of the United Nations - The Nippon Foundation of 
>Japan Fellowship Programme. We are pleased to note that during the last 
>five years, 55 awards have been made to nationals of 48 States.
>The deadline for submissions has been set for 15 August 2009.

>The major objective of this Fellowship Programme is to provide funded 
>opportunities for advanced training in the field of ocean affairs and 
>the law of the sea, or related disciplines, to government officials and 
>other mid-level professionals from developing coastal States so that 
>they may obtain the necessary skills to assist their countries in the 
>formulation of comprehensive ocean policies and to implement the legal 
>regime set out in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 
>(UNCLOS) and related instruments, including the CBD.

>The Fellowship Programme consists of two phases, namely a six-month

>training phase. The first phase will be implemented through a
